Schoolroom Inspiration

As you know, we've recently moved into our new home. We couldn't be more grateful for this place, and little by little we're working hard to make it our own.

The first project we've decided to tackle is the schoolroom. Since we homeschool, the majority of our time is spent in this space, so it's a great place for us to start. And since we're doing this on such a tight budget, get ready for some fun DIY projects in the future!

Here are a few things we've decide that are important to make this room functional for our everyday use:

  • desks or some kind of workspace for the kids
  • seating
  • chalk or white board
  • a place to cuddle up and get lost in a good book
  • storage to organize books/paperwork/projects

We're really drawn to a mix of rustic + industrial design right now, so that's been our main idea for this room. Aside from that, we're hoping to make it feel clean, uncluttered, and inspiring.

Here's a few ideas of what we're using for inspiration as we tackle this room:

Industrial Cage Lighting // Huge Chalkboard // Metal Magazine Rack // Stay Curious // USA Map Pillow

You can also check out our "homeschooling" pinterest board for more ideas. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we post our before and after pictures once the room is finished.

Happy Monday!!
