For our adoption, we got the chance to make a profile book for the birth parents to look through. This was a ton of fun to make, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it wasn't also a little nerve-wracking at the same time. How do you sum up your life, and all that binds you together as a family in a mere 30 pages? Trying to decide what to write, how to share it, and which pictures to choose was a little overwhelming to say the least. But in the end we did our best to capture the essence of our family, and now all we can do is trust that it will reach out and connect to the birth mama that it's supposed to.
To build our 8x8 profile book, I used Shutterfly, and we love how it turned out! Initially it was going to cost just under $50, but I ended up finding a few great promo codes that really brought the cost down. So if that's a factor for you, keep an eye out for the sales.
I hesitated whether to share the full book here or not, but since this process was hard for us to wade through, I decided to post the whole book, page-by-page, in hopes that it might help or inspire anyone who is trying to make their own profile book.
So here it is:
This book goes into the hands of our adoption agency today, full of so much hope and so many prayers!
