My little girl is nine. She has a larger than life personality, but also deeply cares about the world around her.
Although she's so grown-up, she still asks me to do her hair every morning. It's a moment I've looked forward to every day since she was old enough to waddle into the bathroom and climb up beside me.
It's our moment. A space in each day that is carved out just for the two of us to be alone.
As I brush and braid, she talks and spills her heart. Sometimes we giggle, and sometimes we cry about the hard things in life.
And I love every second of it, for I know soon enough she'll out-grow this stage and be ready to move on, but for now I'm grateful for these special moments we share each morning.
She's been growing her hair for years, but a few weeks ago decided she wanted to cut it. So she did.....and 13 inches later, it's as cute as can be!
Her biggest drive behind it was that she wanted to donate it to kids in need. So, here's a little video she made, sharing her thoughts and feelings...
